So there's no new Revolution 1 this week.

Any why is that, you ask?

Because I am in love with Pirates of the Caribbean 2, that's why.


(Admittely it's not the best movie ever, but hell, it was really fun to watch and there were pirates and monsters and MONSTER PIRATES and that's all I need to be 100% happy with my movie watching experience.)

I'm not actually a person to do much fanart at all ever, but lately I've just been struck with that hankering to, y'know, fangirl over things.

Ya'll can have your Jack Sparrows and Will Turners and Scruffy Norringtons, in a perfect world I would have a seedy pub, pints of ale and Barbossa and Davy Jones telling me cursed-pirate stories all the live-long day. Men in eyeshadow will never cut it when there are tentacle beards at stake.

So um, this is some really blatant fanart. Really. It's also the first texture work I've ever done ever. It's also... man, I dunno, it's really kinda silly, but why did any of us learn to draw if not to shamelessly insert themselves into pub scenes with cutthroat pirates?

Great job. The ale could use a little work (should see the top of the ale, due to the perspective), but everything else looks great. Love the work on Davy Jones.

I didn't even notice the perspective on the ale! I (sort of) fixed it- not perfect, but it'll do. Thanks for pointing that out!

*grins* I liked the movie, too. All I wanted were the darn pirates, yar. I never expect an engageing movie plot these days, so I am seldom dissapointed. Except when the special effects are bad. But these were great. Loved the monster-pirates. :D

You know, some of the ships in that movie were "played" by my homestate's flagship, the Providence? The one that got eaten by the Kraken. That makes my smile, oddly enough. :)

I'm so conflicted about Pirates because on one hand I'm so sick of all the blatant advertising the movie does "MCDONALDS STOP. ALSO I DON'T WANT TO READ BOOKS ABOUT TEENAGE JACK SPARROW KTHNX." But on the other hand MONSTER PIRATES AND JOHNNY DEPP.

I like how you look so innocent inbetween the two scallywags.

Ahahahaa, I love the bottles/cans of beer on the wall, and Barbossa's hat, and squidface, and all the textures and the details and the helm/navigation wheel clock and the fancy textures ... and then I'm gonna start going back over stuff I love about this, like ALL THE DETAILS. Man, they are fabulous.

Disappointingly, perhaps, I would take James 'Scruffy' Norrington, because I feel that his character improved so vastly from what he himself described as "a giant ice cream cone" in the first movie - and scruffy *giddy fangirl noises* ... but damn, Barbossa n' you n' Davy look very very nice here!

*ends unnecessarily rambly comment*
